Rates and terms are indicative ranges from published lender information, last verified June 2026; your offer depends on profile, university and collateral. Some links may be partner links (labeled) — partner status never affects ordering. EMI estimates assume the midpoint rate and full disbursal on day one; actual EMIs begin after the moratorium. How we make money.
Rates and terms come from published lender rate cards and product pages, last verified June 2026. Lenders are sorted by their minimum indicative rate. EMI estimates use the midpoint of each lender's range. Every mainstream lender we're aware of is listed regardless of any commercial relationship — if a lender is missing, it's an omission, not a pay-to-play decision.
Your actual offer depends on your university, course, academic profile, co-applicant income and collateral. Treat the ranges here as a shortlisting tool, then get 2–3 real quotes before deciding.
Yes. NBFCs (Credila, Avanse, Auxilo, InCred) lend up to ₹75L–1Cr unsecured for strong profiles, and international lenders like Prodigy Finance and MPOWER need no collateral or co-signer at all. Collateral-backed public bank loans (SBI, Bank of Baroda) remain the cheapest option at 8.3–10% if you can pledge property or deposits.
Public sector banks are typically cheapest — SBI Global Ed-Vantage starts around 8.3% p.a. with collateral, with a 0.5% concession for women borrowers. Unsecured loans from NBFCs run 10.25–13.5%, and USD-denominated international lenders 11–15%.
INR loans (banks/NBFCs) usually have lower headline rates but you carry currency risk if you repay from foreign earnings. USD loans (Prodigy, MPOWER) cost more but create a natural hedge if you plan to work abroad after graduating — your salary and EMI are in the same currency.
The period during which you don't pay full EMIs — typically your course duration plus 6 months. Interest usually accrues during the moratorium; some banks offer interest-only payments during study, which significantly reduces the final repayment amount.
Estimate your total cost — tuition, living, insurance, visa and setup — before sizing the loan.
